LPL Financial has named William (Bill) Morrissey as new managing director of its independent advisor services (IAS) business unit.
Based in San Diego, Morrissey will report to LPL Financial president Robert Moore.

In his new role, Morrissey will oversee a business unit that provides solutions and relationship management to LPL Financial’s independent advisors.
The IAS business unit focuses on client satisfaction, assists with practice management and offers services, including RIA, business consulting and succession planning.
Morrissey, who joined LPL in 2004 as senior vice president of advisory consulting services, most recently served as executive vice president of business development for 10 years, where he was responsible for recruiting new advisors and their practices.
