Standard Chartered Bank has appointed Lim Cheng Teck as CEO for its ASEAN markets, effective 1 May 2014.

In his new role, Cheng Teck will be responsible for delivering the strategy to realize the growth and return aspirations for its franchise and operations in ASEAN, comprising Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, Brunei and Australia.

Cheng Teck will report to Jaspal Bindra, group executive director and CEO Asia of Standard Chartered.

Cheng Teck has 26 years of experience in Standard Chartered, where he served as CEO and executive vice chairman of Standard Chartered Bank (China).

Before China, Cheng Teck served as CEO of Standard Chartered Bank, Singapore.
