BNP Paribas Investment Partners (BNPP IP) has named Cynthia Sweeney Barnes as new head of global segments and EMEA, with effect from 13 May 2014.
Based in London, Barnes will oversee the EMEA country teams and four client segment teams – corporate and endowments, insurance, pension funds, official institutions.

Barnes has been hired to figure out BNPP IP’s growth plans for its institutional franchise.
Prior to joining BNPP IP, Barnes has worked for the asset management arms of Aetna, JPMorgan Chase and, from 2001 and for HSBC Global Asset Management where she led sales activity covering corporates and official institutions.
Barnes has started her career in 1986 and has focused on institutional clients from the UK, EMEA and other regions since 1996. She has over 25 years of experience in asset management.
