Coutts, the wealth division of RBS, has hired Shun-Tak Pang as new managing director and head of Hong Kong market.

Based in Hong Kong, Pang will report to David Lam, head of North Asia.

In his new role, Pang will oversee the teams of private bankers focusing on the Hong Kong and Philippines markets and will strengthen Hong Kong-based private banking team and capabilities.

Prior to joining Coutts, Pang most recently served as head of private wealth management team of over 20 private bankers in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and Philippines at JP Morgan Chase & Co.

Previously, Pang was responsible for growing the private wealth management business for JP Morgan in Asia. He also spent eight years at JP Morgan, New York focusing on family office clients in Asia and has over 20 years of private banking experience.

Pang’s hire follows the appointment of three private bankers and the creation of a new private banking team focuses on Hong Kong market during the start of this year.
