M&G Investments has hired John William Olsen to manage two of its European and global funds, with effect from 1 July 2014.

In his new role, Olsen will manage the £858 million M&G Global Growth and the £206 million M&G Pan European funds, pending regulatory approval.

Meantime, Charles Anniss, currently co-manager of the Pan-European portfolio, will become deputy manager of both funds from 1 July 2014, while Greg Aldridge, who formerly managed the Global Growth Fund, will focus on his expanding institutional mandates.

Additionally, Anniss will also continue in his role as manager of the M&G European Smaller Companies Fund.

Olsen has joined the M&G in April from Danske Capital, where he was portfolio manager for the firm’s Global StockPickingFund and Global Select Fund as well as its European Select equity strategy. He has 16 years’ experience in equity investment.
