British asset manager Ashmore is reportedly planning to open its first Middle East office in Dubai as part of its strategy to expand its international footprint.

The asset manager is said to have appointed a recruitment services provider to support the company establish its new location in the UAE, according to AsianInvestor.

Ashmore is expected to hire business development and client service staff in Dubai, where the company has considerable exposure.

The firm is said to have offered someone the role of MENA head, but the AsianInvestor did not disclose the name of the individual.

Apart from Ashmore, other fund managers including Wells Fargo Asset Management and Aberdeen Asset Management also have recently also made moves to expands presence in Middle East.
