MyState, a Tasmania-based financial services firm, has named Melos Sulicich as its new managing director and chief executive, replacing John Gilbert.

Based in Hobart, Sulicich will assume his new role on 1 July 2014.

Sulicich has joined MyState from RAMS Financial Group.

Previously, he also served as general manager of mortgage broker distribution with Westpac from 2008 to 2013.
