BNY Mellon Investment Management has hired Joseph Moran as new head of distribution for private bank and registered investment advisors (RIA).

In his new role, Moran will be responsible for distributing Dreyfus mutual funds and other BNY Mellon financial services in North America.

Moran will report to Kim Mustin, BNY Mellon Investment Management’s head of North American distribution.

Moran has joined BNY Mellon from Oppenheimer where he served as head of Wealth Management distribution since 2010.

Prior to this, he worked at DWS Investments / Deutsche Asset Management, where he held progressive sales management leadership roles in their retirement plan services area and in the financial institutions group.

Moran began his career as a financial advisor with Metropolitan Life and was also a member of the CEO Advisory Committee.
