Dutch asset manager Robeco has named Gilbert Van Hassel as the new CEO and chairman of its institutional asset management unit.

Van Hassel will assume the new role at Robeco Institutional Asset Management on 19 September 2016, replacing Leni Boeren who is leaving the company.

Van Hassel served as global CEO at ING Investment Management until 2013, and as a member of the board of insurance and asset management at ING.

Prior to joining ING in 2007, he held several executive roles at JP Morgan in Europe, Asia and the US.
