UK-based Standard Life Investments has expanded its international presence by opening a new office in Stockholm.

Additionally, Standard Life hired Christopher Andersson as new investment director for sales in Sweden.

Based in Stockholm, Andersson will report to Edinburgh-based co-head of European Business and head of Nordics Asa Norrie.

Andersson joined Standard Life from boutique asset manager Lannebo Fonder, where he worked as sales manager. Prior to this, he worked in the distribution and client relationship teams at Intervalor in Stockholm.

At the same time, Standard Life Investments has boosted its European sales team by hiring Selcuk Acar as a business development manager for institutional sales in Germany and Austria.

Based in Frankfurt, Acar will alongside the existing Germany team of three including Frank Richter, Dirk Tiemann and Cayley Brown. Prior to joining Standard Life, he worked for eight years at AXA Investment Managers as senior relationship manager.
