Saxo Capital Markets, the UK-based subsidiary of Saxo Bank, has named Anthony Belchambers as new non-executive director.

In his new role, Belchambers will support the growth of Saxo’s international business in London.

In addition, he will advise the firm on its institutional strategy and will also offer regulatory expertise to Saxo.

Belchambers joined Saxo from FIA Europe, formerly the Futures & Options Association, where he served as chief executive until March 2014.

He is the co-founder of an advisory group to the European Parliamentary Financial Services Forum and founder of the Associate Parliamentary Group on Wholesale Financial Markets and Services. He also remains a special adviser to FIA Europe.

Also, Belchambers is founder of the Transatlantic Coalition on Financial Regulation and served on various committees, including at HM Treasury and the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
