Changes and Cancellation 

We reserve the right to change event details if necessary, although we will endeavor to keep all changes to a minimum. We will inform you as soon as possible of important changes, for example name or date changes. Substitutions may be made in writing at any time and will incur no penalty fee. Cancellations without a substitute delegate received a month prior to the event will be subject to a 20% cancellation charge. Delegates canceling after this date without a substitute delegate will be required to pay the full fee and no refund will be made. Cancellations must be received in writing or via email and will not be accepted over the phone.

Before that, Hans-Peter Borgh was Regional Head Affluent Banking Asia Pacific at ANZ. He started his career at ABN AMRO in 1997 where he held different positions in retail and private banking in Europe mainly, including Switzerland.

Javier Carrallo

Javier Carrallo joined TechRules in November 2008. As a business development manager he focuses on providing technology services and solutions to the main European financial institutions. Javier has a wide experience in the international financial services industry. Before moving to TechRules in Madrid, Javier worked as consultant and financial analyst in the City of London for 13 years. Amongst others, he held senior positions in AXA Investment managers, Salomon Smith Barney and Warburg Dillon Read. Javier Carrallo is a member of the European Financial Planning association where he has obtained the AFE/ EFP certification. He is also a member of the UK FCA, required to provide advisory services to institutional clients in the UK.

Jacqui Cheshire, Partner & Head of Family Office, Switzerland, Stonehage Fleming Group

jacquiJacqui Cheshire is Partner at Stonehage Fleming and Head of their Family Office business in Switzerland where she oversees three offices in Zurich, Geneva and Neuchatel. She serves as a Key Adviser to a number of ultra high net worth families advising on how to deal with the complex day-to-day challenges of succession, governance and wealth transfer.

Jacqui has been with the Group for over sixteen years, having joined their London office in 2000 before moving to the Geneva office as Partner in 2009. Prior to this, Jacqui spent several years working in the tax department of Deloitte in South Africa.

Henrik Herr, Head IWM Germany & Austria, Credit Suisse AG

Henrik HerrHenrik Herr is Market Area Head Germany & Austria in Credit Suisse’s International Wealth Management division and a member of the IWM Europe Management Committee. He joined Credit Suisse in November 2002 and built upthe Braunschweig branch in Germany. Following this, he tookon responsibility of the Private Banking business NorthGermany. Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Henrik Herr worked at DeutscheBank for eight years where he held various positions, fromRelationship Manager to Head of the Private Banking businessin Wolfsburg.In November 2014 Henrik Herr accomplished the AdvancedManagement Program of INSEAD at Fontainebleau. Paul Hewitt, Head of Client Strategy EMERI & Chairman's Office, Christie’s

Paul HewittBased out of London Paul is Head of Client Strategy, EMERI and a member of the Europe Middle East Russia & India (EMERI) Chairman’s Office. He is responsible for managing key client relationships as well as introducing a more client focused approach to the way Christie’s look after their most important clients. Prior to joining Christie’s in 1999 he spent 16 years in the luxury brands sector including spear-heading successful market entry strategies for China and India for Moet Hennessy. 


Jürg Hunziker
, Group Chief Markets Officer, Deputy Group CEO, Avaloq

Jürg HunzikerJürg Hunziker is a proven financial technology expert and experienced international leader. He has over 30 years of experience and brings with him a wealth of knowledge of the financial software, technology and banking industries. Hunziker joined Avaloq's Group Executive Board from SunGard in 2016. Among other major achievements, he founded SunGard Europe and played an essential role in launching and bringing to market several award-winning capital market solutions. Most recently, he acted as SunGard's group president for the global trading, risk and private banking software and services business. Jürg Hunziker holds a degree in economics and banking from the Zurich Business School and attended senior management education programs at both the University of Zurich and Stanford University. He started his career in the banking industry at UBS in capital markets trading. 

Ton Kentgens, Global Business Development, Private Wealth Management, Ortec Finance

Ton Kentgens Mr. Kentgens studied Economics at the University of Maastricht. After graduation, he worked for the Open University and later for ABP Investments as Manager European Equities. After ABP, he switched to Rabobank Group, where he worked a total of 12 years, 6 years for Rabobank and 6 years for Robeco, the asset management company of the Bank. In April 2005, Mr. Kentgens went to Warsaw, Poland for a period of 5 years. This assignment started with employment for Rabobank International. Later, he switched back to Robeco and set up a local sales office in Warsaw for Central & Eastern Europe. In 2009, Robeco closed its CEE office due to the economic crisis and Mr. Kentgens moved back to The Netherlands where he was employed as a Principal Consultant at Capgemini Consulting Financial Services and focused on Private Banking & Wealth Management clients in The Netherlands and abroad. In 2013, Mr. Kentgens joined Ortec Finance where he is responsible for Global Business Development for Ortec's Wealth Management product OPAL.

Meghna Mukerjee Meghna Mukerjee is the Editor of Private Banker International. She was previously the Asia analyst for Timetric for the private banking sector, based out of Singapore. She has previously been the senior reporter for Retail Banker International in London and has also worked on reports and research papers across the cards and payments space. Prior to this, Meghna was a reporter at a leading newspaper Hindustan Times. Meghna regularly blogs for the New Statesman and also has published work in The Telegraph.


Gavin Rankin
, Head of Managed Investments, Citi Private Bank, EMEA

Gavin Rankin Gavin Rankin re-joined Citi Private Bank as Head of Advisory Services, EMEA in 2011 to set up the Investment Advisory offering in Europe and the Middle East, taking responsibility for Managed Investments in 2012. He is currently responsible for the delivery of traditional investments, discretionary and advisory portfolios, private equity, real estate and hedge funds in EMEA. Gavin entered wealth management in 2004, joining Citigroup Private Bank as European Product Manager, becoming co-Head, Investments, Europe in June 2005. He moved to UBS Wealth Management, London in 2006 to work in various product and investment roles. Gavin has 19 years' finance experience, starting at Goldman Sachs, London, working with hedge fund clients in the prime brokerage group. He then moved to New York with the group in a product development role. Gavin is frequently interviewed about investment and market trends on CNBC, Reuters and by the financial press. Gavin holds the CFA charter and a BSc (Hons) in Economics and Politics from the University of Bristol.


Paul M. Raphael
, Head of Wealth Management Europe & Emerging Markets, UBS

Paul  M. Raphael Paul M. Raphael is currently UBS Head of Wealth Management Europe & Emerging Markets and a member of the Wealth Management Executive Committee. He joined UBS in October 2010 as Head of Wealth Management Global Emerging Markets leading this Business Area until June 2016. He also acts as the Client Strategy Officer for Wealth Management and leads the Client Experience Initiative within the division. Before joining UBS, he spent six years at Credit Suisse, including three years in Hong Kong as Head of Investment Banking for the Asia Pacific region, and served on the bank's Global Investment Banking Operating Committee. Previously, he headed Equity Capital Markets and acted as Co Head of the European Financing Group.  Prior to Credit Suisse, Paul spent 10 years with Merrill Lynch as Chairman of its Emerging Markets activities in Europe. Later he also served as Head French Investment Banking and European TMT Investment Bank from 1986 to 1994; he was at Salomon Brothers in New York leading the Latin American Investment Banking and Capital Markets team.  Paul M. Raphael holds a degree in Economics from the University of Maryland and an MSc in Management from MIT's Sloan School of Management.


Philipp Rickenbacher
, Member of the Executive Board & Head Advisory Solutions, Bank Julius Baer

MichaelPhilipp Rickenbacher was born in 1971 and has had many great achievements. His studies include Master of Science in Biotechnology at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology from 1992 – 1997. In 2006 he finished an Executive Program at the Swiss Finance Institute followed by an Advanced Executive Program at Harvard Business School in 2013.

His professional history is extensive, Philipp started as Trading Support for Union Bank of Switzerland in 1996, then from 1997-2004 he was Associate Principle for McKinsey & Company both in Zurich and London, allowing him to move on to becoming Head Business Development, Trading and Co-founder and business management, Alternative Risk until 2007 in Bank Julius Baer. 2008-2009 Philipp was Head GAM Structured Investments at GAM (Switzerland) Ltd. Moving back to Bank Julius Baer as Head Structured Products. On 1st August 2016 he was promoted to Head Advisory Solutions and Member of the Executive Board of Bank Julius Baer.

Michael Rogenmoser, General Manager Switzerland & Liechtenstein, Avaloq

MichaelMichael Rogenmoser joined Avaloq in August 2014. As the General Manager Switzerland/Liechtenstein, he is a member of the Executive Board and responsible for Sales, Key Account Management and Consulting/Delivery in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Michael Rogenmoser has wide experience in the international financial services industry. Before joining Avaloq, he had worked as a management consultant and investment banker for 12 years advising financial institutions on strategic matters as well as mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Amongst others, he held positions at McKinsey & Company, UBS Investment Bank and Millenium Associates. Michael Rogenmoser holds an MBA from the University of Berne, where he majored in corporate finance and information management. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder and a member of the Swiss CFA Society.

Peter Schmid, CEO, UBP Zurich

Peter Schmid Peter Schmid joined UBP in 2014 and is a Senior Managing Director serving as CEO Zurich. As a member of the Private Banking Executive Committee, Peter played a key role in the successful integration of Coutts International in 2015.

Peter's wide-ranging private banking experience stretches for over 20 years and includes previous spells at Julius Baer, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and UBS.

Gaining his MBA at the University of St Gallen, he has also gone on to complete the Executive Development Program and the Wharton Fellows Program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. . 


Ray Soudah
, Chairman & Founding Partner, MilleniumAssociates AG

Ray Soudah Ray has enjoyed a long and varied career in the global financial services arena working in territories as diverse as the US, Asia, Middle East and Europe. Earlier positions include; Managing Director and member of the Private Banking Management Board for SBC/UBS AG; Chief Investment Officer, Chief Financial Officer and member of the Executive Board of Cedel Bank (renamed Clearstream); Chief Investment Officer for the National Bank of Bahrain including Head of International Banking and Private Banking; CEO of Hong Kong, CEO of Japan, Head of Global Capital Markets office (London) and head of for Midland Montagu Investment Banking and MD/CEO of Midland Montagu Securities as well as various senior positions within Citigroup, including Head of Asia Pacific Treasury and Capital Markets. Ray is a Harvard School & INSEAD Alumnus. He has multicultural, multilingual wealth management and private banking/investment banking expertise and speaks English, French, Greek and Japanese. 


Pierre Vrielinck
, CEO Wealth Management Switzerland & Emerging Markets, BNP Paribas

PierrePierre Vrielinck, a Belgian native, started working at Paribas in the 1990s, in the asset management division in Paris where he became Middle Office Fund Administration Manager for BNPP Paribas Asset Management, followed by Global Head of Fund Administration and Middle Office for BNPP BNP Paribas Securities Services. In January 2009, he joined the General Management team of BNPP BNP Paribas (Suisse) SA in Geneva as Chief Operating Officer, whilst also holding the position of Deputy Head Wealth Management International Europe. In July 2014, Pierre Vrielinck took over responsibility for the Wealth Management Division in Switzerland and the Emerging Markets.

Tobias Wagner, Head Zurich Branch & Member Executive Committee Switzerland, Societe Generale Private Banking

Tobias Wagner Tobias Wagner heads up the Zurich Branch and is a member of the Executive Committee for Société Générale Private Banking Switzerland.  He spent 10 years at Credit Suisse in various senior management positions overseeing Northern Europe, North & West Latin America and the European business in Singapore. He joined Credit Suisse as Head of PB Strategy Development and worked as Relationship Manager Germany offshore. Before joining Credit Suisse he spent 6 years with management consulting firm Oliver Wyman. Tobias Wagner holds a Masters Degree in International Business Studies from the University of Maastricht and management education from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston.

The inaugural Private Banking Switzerland Awards 2016 will take place on 8th December at the Zurich Marriott Hotel in Zurich, Switzerland.

This year companies can nominate in 11 categories. Full details of this year's categories and criteria can be found on the categories tab.

Nominees should follow these simple guidelines to ensure their submission has the best chance of winning.



Submission Rules

  1. Submissions can be made either on behalf of your own company or in recognition of a colleague or partner firm.
  2. Maximum of 1,000 words in Word format, no appendices.
  3. Entry must address the award category explicitly, not generic links to web sites, corporate marketing etc.
  4. Submissions should highlight the key differentiator and competitive nature of the project or implementation.
  5. It is made explicit the Entrant, Judges and the publication will treat any and all information in strict confidence and any quotes or information to go into the public domain will be pre-cleared by the Entrant.
  6. Submissions made after the publicised cut-off date will be ignored irrespective of their relative merits.
  7. The Editor and Judges reserve the right to make no award for any specific category.
  8. The Editor and Judges reserve the right to move a submission to a more appropriate category at their discretion.
  9. In submitting for more than one category the submissions must be unique (see 3).
  10. The Editor and Judges' decision is final.

Please note: Whilst we recommend you to try to submit against as many of the criteria as possible, we appreciate that for some companies this may not be possible. The more you can respond against the stronger your application will be, but we would like to highlight that submitting against all criteria is not mandatory.
